Merry Christmas "JOY"

Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy New Year. I pray that you and your family will be safe, healthy, and whole throughout the remaining days of 2010 and well into the new year.

We are nearing the end of another year and it has been a good one. I've had much fun in posting stories and events about family and friends in 2010. Most of the posts were about events that was held throughout the year and yet others were about the people we love. I hope you have enjoyed them as much as I have and are looking forward for more in the coming year.

Congratulations again to all my Brides and Grooms and pageant winners. Keep Christ first place in your family and you will always succeed in whatever you do. Thank you for allowing me to share in your special day. It was an honor for me to be there.

Here are some photos from our latest event; a Christmas concert in Fayetteville NC.

November Spotlight - Larry & Rachel Morgan

It's November and the end of the year is coming fast.

This month we are highlighting another one of our young wedding couples, Larry & Rachel Morgan. Larry and Rachel were married on July, 17, 2010 at the Rose Garden, FTCC, in Fayetteville NC. The wedding was officiated by Pastor Bob Bulls, Fayetteville NC.

It was a very hot July day, but the couple was cool and calm. Their wedding colors were crimson red and ivory. The bride worn a beautiful full length ivory wedding dress and the groom was dressed in a black tux with a red tie and white shirt. The brides' bonquet was a dozen of crimson red roses, arranged by her Maid of Honor and sister-in-law, Amanda Walters.

Around the beautiful fountain in the Rose Garden was the parents of the Bride; brother and sister-in-law of the Bride; maternal and paternal grandparents of the Bride; Parents of the Groom; younger siblings of the Groom; a host of out-of-state family and friends of the Bride and Groom.

The reception was held at Honeycutt Rcreation Center in Fayetteville NC. DJ Tommy King kept some of the guest on the dance floor, while caterer, Jeff Robertson, kept most of them coming back to the buffet table for seconds and thirds.

The event came to a close around 4pm and Larry & Rachel departed in style. Larry is in the military, while Rachel is employed at a private school. The couples' duty station is Fort Bragg, so they will remain living in Fayetteville NC for now.

This wedding was loads of fun to do. All made possible by the very fun loving and easy going couple.

Update since the wedding: Larry and Rachel is expecting their first child in April 2011. Congratulations to the two of them.

Happy Birthday Crystal!

This is my daughter Crystal LaShea Hart. She was born on July 30, 1984. I wanted to highlight Crystal this month on my blog because July is her birthday month and she's my favorite daughter. Crystal currently live and work in GA. I'm very proud of Crystal for all the things that she has accomplished this early in her life. My only desire is that one day, she will be married and have at least two children, so that I will have the chance to SPOIL them; but mostly I desired that she will follow the WILL of God for her life and live and love HIM above anyone else. Happy Birthday Crystal!. Love you much, MOM!

Pink breeze and Crimson heat!

I'm ready to design the wedding reception of two young brides getting married in July.  One bride has chosen the color pink and the other has chosen crimson red. I have an idea of what I'm going to do and I can't wait to see it all fall into place.

But, I want to know what's your idea of a pink wedding? When you think of crimson red, what comes to mind? I'm excited for both of these brides. I can't wait to see their faces when they walk into their reception venues. Don't get me wrong; I'm not bragging, but I thank God for the gift He has placed within me.

Crimson red's wedding ceremony will be outdoors, so I ask for your prayers because it is extremely hot in North Carolina, especially at 12pm in July.

Stay tune, I'll post some photographs after the events.

Meet the Davenport's

Karen and Aldred Davenport wanted something different for their wedding. They opt for a small intimate affair with family and close friends with a sit-down dinner reception.

Aldred is an adventerous outdoorsmen and Karen is very laid back, so they went with a earthy color palette of blue, brown and green. Each guest received a blue box of chocolates to take home as a thank you gift from Karen & Aldred.

Karen & Aldred will remain working and living in Fayetteville NC.

My Black & Blue Wedding - March 2010

I'm so excited for this young couple. Though they experienced a few bumps in the road prior to their wedding date, I pray that the blessing of Abraham will be upon them as they begin their new life together.

Jamar & Ashton have many things in common, i.e. they share the same birthday, both of their fathers are named Willie; many of their close family members also share the same name; and her maiden name is 'Black' and her married name is 'Blue'. (Black & Blue, a  great wedding theme & color) The bride chose pink & orange as her wedding colors, as you can see in the sand photo above.

Thanks Jamar & Ashton for allowing me to be a part of your special day. A special thanks also to their parents, Willie & Angela Black and Willie & Evelyn Blue; all of Fayetteville NC.

Wedding Scrapbook Finale

Embellishments: Here is a link to a great idea to embellish your wedding pages. http://www.scrapbooksetc.com/techniques/stamping/projects/stamped-scrapbook-page-backgrounds/?page=10 We will talk about this subject more later.

Now that you've purchased your scrapboook album and papers, get your pictures in hand and let's begin putting together the pages.

Let's start by telling your love story with the engagement photos first, then the wedding photos.

- Select a photo and the paper that compliments the photo (solid color or decorative cardstock paired with solid color or decorative paper) .

- Trim (paper trimmer or tear/rip) your top sheet of decorative or solid paper so that your cardstock (bottom sheet) will also be seen.

- With double-sided tape in hand find the perfect placement on the page and tape your photo to the paper. You can also use glue dots or a glue stick.

-You can add embellishments (anything that adds more beauty to a page i.e., brads, buttons, ribbon, rub-ons, staples, glitter, beads, jewelry, and ...) at this time or you can complete all of your layouts and then go back and add the embellishments.

- The first and last page of the scrapbook album will be single page layouts.

- The second and third, fourth and fifth, etc pages, can be designed as double page layouts if you like.

- Scrapbook pages can be created with simplicity or not. This is your wedding album (your dream), just be creative.

Honey, it's cold outside, Burr!

It finally happen; we received almost 2 inches of snow yesterday in about 3 hours. I'm warm (in the house of course) working on Valentine cards, gifts, etc; so I'm very content. I have 3 weddings coming up with the first one in March, so my evenings and weekends are busy. To the right are some night and day photos of the snow. It's really been a great creative outlet for me, surprisely.

The snow that came as ice

Well, it really happen this time. Some of us received snow, but most of us received ice. It really looks good from the inside, but I dare not travel outside. It doesn't matter how many times the news reporters say, "stay off the roads if you don't have to be out", they eventually report that someone got stuck in the snow/ice just to go to the store or a resturant. I don't get it with some people, I guess they think it want happen to them.

Anyway, I decided to stay in the house and do some executive work. I have a few weddings to plan so organization is a must.

Don't forget to submit your couple and baby photos to show on my blog. Send all photos to tatum_event_planning_design@msn.com.

Wedding Scrapbook How-to's

Wedding photos can be kept in the drawer next to the phonebook or other items, or you can created a scrapbook and leave it out so everyone can enjoy it on every visit to your home. I'll give you some simple ideas on putting together the memories of your most important day.

Step one: Purchase a 12x12 scrapbook from your local craft store. http://www.hobbylobby.com/ (my favorite craft store; especially for scrapbooks and scrapbook paper). If you can't find a scrapbook in the color you like, purchase decorative papers and decoupage the front and back covers. Also choose some 12x12 decorative papers to add your photos too. Most 12x12 albums come with at least 10 sleeves; which will hold 20 scrapbook pages.

Blog in again for more...

The Snow That Wasn't

Have you ever planned your day around something or someone only to be disappointed? Today a lot of people but their faith in the weather report of possible snow. The morning came and there is little to hardly any snow in most places. On my Facebook page, most of my friends were very sad about not having snow. I guess I really can't relate because I'm not a fan of snow or the cold.

If you are planning your wedding around what someone else wants, then stop. Your wedding is your day and you will not be excited about your day based on someone else's plans. My thought for today is "put your faith in HIM who knows everything". He will never disappoint you, never, never, never.

On that note, I'm going to do some wedding planning. Enjoy the sunshine everyone (where ever you are) and have a HAPPY day!
